Zoniana – “Festival of Cheese and Shepherd”

The Cultural Association of Zoniana “O Sfentonis” organizes the “Cheese and Shepherd Festival” in Zoniana honoring the culture of the mountain people, whose main occupation is animal husbandry and the production of dairy products. The shepherds prepare a huge head of gruyere weighing one ton, using over eight tons of goat’s and sheep’s milk. The institution aims to promote local culture and promote local dairy products.
