The Late Minoan vaulted tomb of Margarita, at the site of Kalosykia, is part of a group of underground vaulted tombs of large dimensions, dating to the 14th and 13th centuries. B.C. A sloping corridor, dug into the soft couscous, 13.55m long and 1.66-1.86m wide, lined with slab-like limestone stones, leads to the circular chamber through a spacious entrance. The dome, 4.60m in diameter and 4.44m high, is underground and is preserved almost intact. The bones of at least 6 dead people, five adults and a child, were found inside the chamber. The gifts that accompanied the dead attest to their high social status.
