The Potamiano Wax Museum is located in the mountainous village of Zoniani at an altitude of 630 meters, at the northern foothills of Psiloritis.
The Museum focuses on wax effigies, in life size, of important personalities and events of the history and tradition of Crete.
Important references are made to the mythology of the island, with the figures of Minos, Theseus, Ariadne and representation of historical events from Byzantium and the Venetian occupation to the holocaust of Arcadius. The collection of wax figures includes, among others, the wax figure of Vicenzou Cornaros, D. Theotokopoulos (El Greco), by N. Kazantzakis and Eleftherios Venizelos, important Cretan personalities.
