Near the community of Kryonerio, in a mountainous and inaccessible area, a building from the end of the Palaeopalatial period, MM IIB (1700 BC) has been uncovered. It is a building that was abandoned by its occupants without any kind of destruction.

According to the excavator M. Pateraki, the choice of the location is not accidental as it is on the road to the sea and probably the construction of the building is connected to the exploitation of lemonite deposits that exist in the area. The finding of mineral lead in its natural state and a fine crystal in primary form indicate laboratory spaces in the edifice.
