The Church of the 318 God-bearing Fathers is located at the location “Kalo Khorafi” and is dedicated to the name of the 318 God-bearing Fathers of the First Ecumenical Synod. The building belongs to the single-aisled arched roof architectural type without frescoes. In a second phase, it extended to the west, while it also communicated with two arches to the N-NW. On the western outer side, above the door, there is the coat of arms of the Kallergi family, while a second coat of arms of the Kallergi family, from the first construction phase of the temple, was found in second use during the restoration of the Temple by the Ephorate of Antiquities of Rethymno, alongside the excavation research in the Minoan settlement in this area. The Holy Fathers are the Bishops who took part in the First Ecumenical Council that took place in Nicaea in Bithynia in 325 and condemned the Arian heresy. The Temple bears the date 1658 engraved at the entrance of the last construction phase.
